POEMS!

This week we have been learning about poems. We looked at the poem called Talking Turkeys by Benjamin Zephaniah.When he was 13 he still did not know how to read or write but when he was about 15 he discovered wrapping and poetry. Heritage Day

On the 6th of November it was Heritage Day. The day is for learning about different culters and countries. 4T's country was Australia. The colours for our flag is red, white and blue. We saw children performing in the assembely. After lunch we saw some African drummers which were so loud that we had to move back and our ears were ringing for 10 minuites afterwards. Then we went to a parade and I/Deran got to hold the huge flag which made me/Aria very jealous. After school there were stalls were we could buy cakes, have hanna done many more things. We had a great time.

Every Thursday we have been learning how to play the Cornet. Last Friday we got to take them home except for Deran, because he wasn't in school that day. It was great! Our teachers are Mr. Robberts and Mrs. Baremen.

Harvest

On the 9th October 2009 we went to the church for harvest. We either brought some food or one pound. Year 4 went in the afternoon. Me and Aria felt really excited about saying our speech out loud. This was the first time ever to go the church without it raining. I had a great time at harvest. We sang loads of songs like paint box. Have a look at some pictures from the assembly...

Fairlop's 'BLOGGERS'

A new club has started this year called'BLOGGERS' and we will be posting blogs weekly, sharing lot's of things that are happening in our classes!

Our names are Deran and Aria, we will be writing the blogs for 4T.

We have learning about the Eygptians this term and found out a lot.

Egypt is in North Africa. The River Nile flows through Egypt and is one of the only rivers in the world to run south to north.

Here is a model of the Nile we made.

We have also been studying Egyptian artwork. The Egyptians drew profiles of people, which means they drew them sideways. Here are examples of our work.

Tennis has arrived!!!

This week 3P were lucky enough to have free tennis lessons from Redbridge Sports' Centre. We were delighted to take part in some good, old-fashioned tennis!
